yellow thayn....?

surfdude660 Nov 15, 2003 03:04 PM

I purchased a snake at the philadelphia reptile show today. I was told that it was a yellow thayn.... (someting after that. Or, a yellow thayri, i cannot remember). I was told that these snakes have many color patterns, even from the same mother. Snakes of the same litter will look nothing alike. Using this info, is it possible to determine what kind of snake this is? If so, what do i have, and if not, i will try to post a picture. Thanks in advance!!!

i believe they are referring to the variable kingsnake, Lampropeltis mexicana thayeri. they are often called thayeri. the yellow is referring to the color. Rin
