Elaphe prasina - Finally hatched one

korell Nov 15, 2003 08:02 PM

I had two eggs and this girl was the only one that hatched. The other one was fully developed, but dead in the egg. After cutting the egg, I noticed that its head was close to bottom of the egg. I assume it drowned in the egg before it could find its way out

Congrats on your hatchling and sorry to hear about the one that didn't make it. Beautiful snake!

Thanks Lora!
I was actually lucky to get this one since the mother did not deposit the eggs in the laying box (like she was supposed to ), but in her hide spot. I almost found them too late.

That's actually the first offspring of the female I got from you a few years ago.

Congrats Sasha - Wonderful snakes that are a breeze to care for. Just wish people would quit asking "how much for the little green-snakes" at the reptile shows
