Thanks Frank! Gorgeous animal for sure. How much do high quality baby diamonds like that one sell for? How difficult/easy is it to keep diamonds? I've kept morelia and Dumerils boas before.

As far as care goes there are many different theories on the Diamond Python care. I offer mine full spectrum lighting as I cannot offer natural sunlight to them. I do take them outside when I have good enough temperatures. They are also supposed to be cooled like colubrids when they are closer to breeding age. I have not gone that low with mine and have treated them similar to my jungle carpet pythons going into the low 70's for breeding attempts this year. They are cooling right now and I expect to pair up my adults around Xmas time. I also have a juvi male (I will attach a picture of him). They are spectacular looking animals and so far I have not encountered any of the problems associated with Diamonds. I hope to get some eggs in the spring and have some babies for sale in the late spring early summer. Thanks for the nice comments. Frank Kincade.

How long are your adults? Also, you mentioned full spectrum lighting. Do you go by the axiom that all snakes need full spectrum or that Diamonds in particular need full spectrum?
Very pretty snakes BTW

from everything I have read on the diamonds I figure it can't really hurt so I offer it to mine. I have talked to some diamond keepers that don't feel it's necessary and others that feel it is a "requirmement". My philosophy is why not offer it to the animals rather than hurt or possibly kill such a beautiful species. Just my 2 cents. Hope this answer helps. By the way I don't offer full spectrum to any of my other animals which include bredl's, JCP's, Coastals, DxJ's, GTP's, Red Tail Boa, Retics, Papuan Pythons, Ball pythons and an Albino Green Burmese.

It does make sense, particularly after reading a bit about Diamond Syndrome.

get more of these babies out on the market because there is so much demand for the pure diamonds. Again, great looking animals. Here is a picture of my adult female breeder that is cooling as we speak. Frank Kincade.
