Brand new kingsnake

Langi Nov 15, 2003 08:26 PM

Yep I got a kingsnake today. A stunning cali. I know I know, so common but all my corn snakes are red so I wanted something different. I just wanted to know if there is anyway I should treat this little girl thats different from my corns. I know that they can be more aggresive then corns but is their upkeep different in anyway? Thanks and I will get pics soon.

P.s. If anyone knows anything about marbled geckos let me know, I tried in the gecko forum buy have yet to recived an answer.

"...is their upkeep different in anyway?"

No. Except for individual quirks there is no difference in the care of those two species that I can think of.

There are no major differences between corns and kings as far as caring for them, but I'll point out a couple of things. For one, kingsnakes are cannibalistic, so to be on the safe side they should always be housed separately. And two, kingsnakes need to be in extra secure enclosures. While any snake can be a potential escape artist, it seems to me that kingsnakes have a special knack for it.
