Elaphe hohenackeri

korell Nov 15, 2003 09:02 PM

Well, I was in the picture taking mood.

Here she is! My female E. hohenackeri at about 55cm (approx. 21 inches). She is doing great although I wish she was growing a little faster. I don't know whether I'll try to breed her next year or not. I guess I'll decide next spring judging by her size then. I bet Rick can't wait...

and would love to see you begin producing some of these in the US. Rick is waiting for a female. Sacha can you give us a few details on these beauties like husbandry, etc? Thanks for posting some pics Sacha. The scalaris I got from you are doing great. The male with the attitude has settled down real nice. He's as friendly a snake as any in my collection. He's also decided to eat every meal I put in with him. They are both great eaters. They are kind of arboreal for a snake that has a rostral scale for burrowing I believe.

Interesting snake. Are you going to pair her up with Rick's male? Those are the only two I've heard of

No, I'm not going to pair her up with Rick's, at least not initially, as I have my own male (see below). However, Rick will be the first person to get any offspring.
