can i chop up a rat and feed it to my timor?

dynomite Nov 15, 2003 10:30 PM

i know this sounds gorss but my python doesnt want to eat it and i dont want it to go to waste, but my other snakes r too big and my bearded dragon is brumating, and my other animals wouldnt b able to eat it so the only one that might is the timor.. so can i shop it up =(if i can manage) and feed him the rat or would he like to tear through the whole thing himself, or shoudl i just not try anything? also i bought him a fogger to help with humidity, does anyone have experience with the exo-terra fogger? should i keep it in there or could it hurt him?
thanx a lot
-Jake

ra_tzu Nov 15, 2003 11:19 PM

You forgot to tell him that you can feed them whole or chopped up ackies as well. You sir, will be reported to PETA immediately!

thanx rsg... ra_tzu, why r u offended? im trying to make use of the rat so that its death is not in vain. i mean its already dead, how am i being cruel to it by having another animal eat it instead of my python?

Because you sir, are a cold blooded murderer and will be reported as well. You just sealed your doom!!!!

Hello?? For all I care, throw him in the blender with some Met-rx and give your timor a real meal

whatever dude, think what u want. you dont know me and are basing ur entire opinion off of one sentence. believe what u wish.

P.S. as i stated in the original message "so can i chop it up (if i can manage) ..." i am not sure if i can handle chopping it up on my own... thats why i asked if he could tear through it on his own.

But I feed mine exclusively on fuzzies... Cutting up rodents....

>_<

Is no fun!

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?

ra_tzu Nov 16, 2003 07:12 PM

Oh cmon yes it is fun, messy, but fun. Plus you can pick what organs and sections you'd like to feed. You can make your very own rat stew.

ianare Nov 17, 2003 05:53 PM

that is really quite disgusting! i did it once, never again... it's the smell that got to me.

Haha The smell isnt too bad if its fresh. Smells a whole lot better than a regurgitated rat thats been sitting in a cage for a couple of days, lol.

dynomite Nov 17, 2003 09:05 PM

i have so much to do right now i dont have time to cut up a rat even if i wanted to.... which i did not really want to to anyway. (not that homework and college applications are that much better)
