Pictures of Tyrone!
He is difficult to catch in public if there is any movement in the room. He's the skittish one, normally.
He came out to climb around, as he does when I'm on the couch, and this time when I got up he didn't run and hide.
Sorry for the quality of the pics, but I had to grab my cam real quick and had no time to set-up any good shots. He only ended up staying out a few seconds.
Tanisha, my only other gecko at this time, was in the main humid hide at the time.
This is their setup. In the upper-left is what I call the main humid-hide. I call it the main humid-hide because they rarely use the other one, which is immediately to the right of the main one; if the hide were a clock, the opening would be at the 6 o'clock position, as viewed from top). Directly below (in front of) the hides is their main rock-hide...if it were a clock, there would be a little opening at the 11 o'clock position (practically in front of the humid-hide door). You can obviously see the other two rock-hides...the middle hide has the large opening in the 5-8 o'clock position and the 1 o'clock), the far-right rock-hide has a small opening in the 7 o'clock position and the 3 o'clock. They've got half of a paper towel tube (climbing object/hiding spot/pushing object), a food dish (the green one with worms and Cal-D3), a water dish (red), and a (plain) calcium dish in the lower-left corner. Paper towel substrate.
I change the setup slight, each time I clean, gradually shifting to stuff they seem to prefer. For example, the rocks used to be set-up differently with the water dish where Tyrone is in this pic, but they kept moving the water dish - since I've put it in that corner they've been ok with it. Another example is the paper towel tube. It started in the back and they used to climb on and hide in it, it moved to the front and they never touched it, on top of the rocks it got a lot of play action but they kept pushing it off the rock, so it's back in the back where it seems to work best. Where do they defecate? On top of the humid hide and in the upper-right corner of the tank where I've seen Tyrone pull the paper towel back and potty between the layers so it's somewhat hidden.
I think this setup will work the best, but if you have/had geckos and have any ideas, thoughts, anecdotes, etcetera, feel free to throw in some input.
