Can't tell if one eye shed or not

Hi, I have a year old 50-50 Califoria King and he went through his first shed since i've gotten him. How do you know if the eyecaps have come off? I can't find one of the old caps on the shed skin. I don't see anything on his eye but i don't know how to tell for sure since i'm new to owning snakes.
