Mr. Mister's address and comparisons needed

shopaholic May 31, 2003 02:59 PM

I've decided that i will use a combo of misting system and fogger in my new set up for my Imitators. I remember that Mr. Mister was highly recommended. I have also seen the mister on BigApple's site. Is there a great difference between the two, and what is Mr. Mister's address? Thanks!!

Well I don't know anything about the commercial misters. Personally I just use a small booster pump for reverse osmosis water filters, a few misting nozzles from home depot and a digital light timer. Cost about $160 total but I've heard that the pre-built systems are a lot more.

I tried to find misting nozzles at home depot and could find one, in what section did you found them?

Do you have a picture of your setup? Thanks.

The misting nozzles should be in the same section as the drip watering stuff. My home depot had several different nozzles to choose from, and I tried all of them, but the ones that were "adjustable" worked best for me.

The link for the The Mr. Moisture is below. What i was told when i asked wetworks about the big apple mister looking like therese was that they sent a sample to big apple hoping they would carry the product big apple in turn just found wetworks suppliers and "borrowed" the design giving wetworks no credit at all if i where you i would go with the Mr. Moisture it is great and i don't support a place that does things like that "i have heard of a few other cases of them doing that"

I just ordered the Mr. Moisture. How do the nossels attach? Do you drill holes into the glass at top? Thanks!

One of three ways:

1) Drill holes in the glass - Hardest Way!

2) Drill holes in the plastic strip in the back of the tank (assuming you have one) - Easy Way

3) What I wish I had done! Let the tubing run thru the inside of the setup and just cover up the tubing by Ivey or some bushy plant of some sort. You will have a much easier time of "aiming" it this way. I may go back soon and re-do mine. I chose way #2.

By the way, let me know if the "silent pump" is actually silent on yours. Mine is noisy as hell and for that reason has been put into retirement for a while. I will switch my pump out if this is the case.

Running the tubing in is definatly the way to go i did using #2 and they are really a pain to aim.

You can not even hear my pump running when it switches on the water is way louder.

So then, would one then drill small holes for the tubing that feeds the water into the tank? Am I getting you guys right?

mrk442 Jun 03, 2003 03:04 PM

I am working on one right now and i just placed a hole on each side of the plastic strip and put right angle peices in there so it runs strait across the back of the tank.

So do the right angle pieces come with mr, Moisture or did you have to buy additional pieces somewhere?
