Tsk, Greg Greg Greg Greg Greg!
There are not many sources of feeder toads, it is best to use one toad to scent mice. Amphibian feeders are a constant source of parasites, disease, and biopollutants. If you need help converting them to mice, let me know.

hey, Cory! i thought you'd probably frown on that...lol! however, i think you'll be glad to know that i did a little more research yesterday and saw a post where a guy used the saliva from a toad to get his Eastern on mice. well, i tried that and it worked!!! what a relief! my snake ate 2 fuzzies - the first one was scented and the second one wasn't! he must've been hungry. just wanted to let you know.
thanks!
greg
I am really glad that worked out!! Afterall, rodents comprise 20-30% of an Eastern's diet, it's not like you are forcing them to eat it! That must have been me that recommended that technique, I don't know of too many other people that have recommended that on this forum. Good for you and your hog!

Where did you find that information? H.platyrhinos (wild) diet is composed of 20-30% rodents! Please give citations. They are a very specialized snake. Specialists live up to that distinction! What collection has evidence of platyrhinos ingesting mammalian prey? Shane
