Cage necessities for brb

revadgib Nov 16, 2003 12:43 PM

I have a 36"x60" that slopes from four to seven feet at the top and was curious if a water heater in a waterfall would be enough to replace a below the tank heat supply. I also have one infared heat lamp and two ceramic heat emiters. All controled by a thermostat. I figure that the waterfall will add a lot of humidity. Has anyone had any expierence with foggers. I am trying to up the humidity because he seems to have what almost looks like an unshed scale over one of his eyes. He has never shown any signs of respiratory infections. His cage stays right arround 60% humidity and varies between 75 to 94 degrees end to end there are caves at each end and on in the middle.

I use a submersible heater in my waterfall- this defintely helps keep the temp and humidity up and gives my guys a place to chill and hang out (actually, NOT chill, but warm up- kind of like a little snake jacuzzi- I keep it at around 88 degrees in the waterfall. Temp wise you seem just about ok- though I wouldn't suggest removing the undertank heater- the waterfall probably won't be enough- I'ts not in my cage- I have a 4ft vision display cage. I would seriously sugest you look into keeping your humidity higher though- I like my cage between 75 and 85 percent
