As you said you havnt had much experiance with retics I would only recomend a CB animal. Most are fairly docile creatures, rarly biting, and are fairly easy to manage. In addition to the breeders here in the US who are willing to export, there must be at least a few in the UK. I would prehapse wait untill spring/summer and just keep your eyes open for some babies. -Shaun D

hi shaun thanks for the advice youre right c.b. would be better for me.there are a few breeders in uk but only l.t.c. are available at the moment for 225 pounds.im not too sure that even long term captives would be ok? im worried about more aggressive and parasites.you mentioned export do you know of any that will do that for 1 snake,as most the min order is 1000 pound. cheers mark

Actualy ive never looked into it before so I wouldnt know what to tell you. I would imagine that you are not the only person who may want somthing imported though, you may be able to get a group order. As far as LTC animals most Dwarf retics are not overly aggesive however many such animals have much more serrious problems. Such as reocurring stomatitis, rubbing, abcesses, and I have seen several develop tumors while trying to get breeding stock acclimated. I have none left because I basicaly gave up on WC animals all together. Here is a photo taken this week of my Jampea gravid, this is the second time in as many years, -Shaun DeBord

hi shaun i agree with you as tempting as it is to go and buy the snake you want i really dont want to worry all the time wether its got this or that, plus like you say more prone to rubbing the nose ect.id rather pay a bit more to know its cb.i loved the picture you sent me,very nice jampea, she looks big is she due to lay anytime soon? do you let her incubate herself? where are you shaun in the us? id like one of them babies! see you mark uk

Hi Mark

There should be some captive bred Jampea and Kayuadi dwarf retics again this season in the UK, plus a few other forms of retics.

Do you read the reptillian adverts as they were advertised there last year.

I bred the Kayuadis last year and things are looking promoising this year also from different parents.
