about gecko climbing / sleeping

skarier Nov 16, 2003 01:54 PM

Read sometimes ago a post about gecko who and who don't climb.

Mine does, and really often. On the 7" above the ground branch and on top of the caves. Day and night. Maybe to get their tail hanging down like in the picture help the digestion or the fat storage.

Also, I read opinions about sleeping in the open area or in the hides.

I would like to add that often I can see my gecko in the afternoon sleeping out in the open, light doesn't seem to bother at all. The room is real quiet too, maybe this help, so the animal is not stressed out and go into the open.

When I approach the terrarium, she walk close to the window, and seems to cry: 'Get me out of this tank!' So I put my hand in and she get on. Day or night.

Pretty docile animal.

That's a cute picture

Unfortunately, I don't have any high branches for my leo can climb, so she just climbs on top of her hides or the little log i put out. She especially loves to sleep on top of her humid hide. I'm not sure if them on high branches helps in digestion, I just know that belly heat (from UTHs) help in digestion. When my leo tries to hug the glass and climb up to lean against it, that's when I just lift her up and take her out... most of the time, I just stick my hand in N she climbs up on her own

Take care! Again, REALLY nice pic
