I want to see if I can breed and supply the pet stores in my area with rats. How do I know what to charge? What is the wholesale pricing on rats? I breed small scale now 4.5 for my 2 boas.

You really need to base your prices on your costs like food and bedding then you would need to find out how much your local pet stores pay for rats. Call and ask them if they would buy from you and how much they pay now because most pet stores will go to the lowest bidder. Good luck
a rodent breeder website like bigcheese.com That will give you a good idea what wholesale prices look like.

I would check the prices of rats at the pet stores in the area, they most likly charge twice as much then what they pay. But I found if they are out & if they really need them they will pay more. Right now I keep about 5.20 breeder rats (1 male per 4 females), & I still find times when I need to buy few jumbs once in awhile. Keeping in mind it takes about 4 months to get a pinkie up to jumbo size.
