Pet, store

pacman101 Nov 16, 2003 03:52 PM

The only pet store that is in my area treats their animals well but theirs one problem... the prices! They charge 80$ for a 30 gallon tank and for a 45 gallon tank they charge 120$. I am afraid to ask the guy who works there how much the 50 gallon tank is.......

That is the name of the dollar a gallon people. They have good tanks. I just picked up a 65 gal at the show in Philly for 89 bucks with a screen. You could try to find them at a show near you. They're located in TN, don't know where you are. I know they don't ship glass tanks, but they do ship acryllic ones.
Anyway....their website is www.glasscages.com
Good luck.

Actually, according to this statement on their site, they do now ship glass tanks

"Shipping News: We can now ship glass aquariums up to 8ft in length via a trucking line anywhere in the continental US for a reasonable rate. To get a quote on shipping, email twinoaks02@aol.com - shipping@glasscages.com(having problems) with what you are interested in, your location, and zipcode."

I stand corrected, then. :-p Good to know. The shipping charges are probably insane.

If you're looking for a tank, try the classifieds in your area. There's always people unloading 55 gallons for cheap. Also, if you have a fish store, try them as well. Ours is always taking in used tanks on trades and have an abundance of them.

You may also try "thrift" or second-hand stores such as goodwill and salvation army... I have not personally bought any tanks from them, but know a few people that have.
