Sperm?

dilwann Nov 16, 2003 05:07 PM

I have never seen this before during breeding besides a little amount of dried white stuff, but my amazon basin surinames have been breeding for the last few week and just today I saw the male after he just got done with his business and there is a ton of sperm all over the females vent, back, and sides. Is this normal?

Yes, LOL, this is normal!! When my male is mating with the female sometimes he will get some on her head on her back and everywhere else except where it's supposed to go. LOL!!! Quite normal. Occasionally a mature male will simply leave a sperm deposit just lying around, especially in his water dish. This is normal and nothing to worry about.
