Just thought I would let everyone know that yesterday my "white washed" female Northern BTS gave birth to 12 beautiful babies. It was a bit earlier than I expected. She was bred to a 2 year old male that I held back because he was lighter than all of his siblings, and he had almost no black barring on his side. I figured he would make a good future mate for the "white washed" girl. I call her that, because she looks like a piece of white washed oak that was so popular in the 80's. I was hoping he would breed with my big white girl, but he is not big and tough enough for her yet. Most of the babies have no black on their sides at all. I am excited to grow a couple of them up and maybe breed them to the big white girl in the future. This project has been a very slow and, at times, frusterating venture for me, but this is a big step in the right direction. I wish that I had a big light male northern that could handle my big white girl! I am hoping that my male can next year. Hope all is well with everyone.
