Is lettuce bad for BD

i heard that the red leaf lettuce is VERY BAD for BD's so I was wondering how is the round lettuce in the ball shape (lol) is it good or bad for BDS

Lettuces have very high water content and very low nutrient content, so as for a staple green it's not a good choice. Better choices would be mustard, collard, endive, escarole, and dandelion greens to name a few good healthy staple greens. Green & red leaf lettuce would actually be the lesser of the evils, head lettuce or the ball lettuce is actually the worst. Check out the nutrient content list on www.beautifuldragons.com for some good greens to base the salads around. They do have a legend on that page, not all the foods listed should be fed. The ones listed in green are what you should be looking to base the salads around.
