Hey- I used to have a Tiger Salamander that would eat dead/ freeze dried crickets. Is it possible to have some species of Geckos do this? If anyone knows of this I really appreciate your reply. Thanks. Brooks

My TOKAY will eat dead bugs-and only hand fed. She will no longer catch live ones on her own. She prefers the head cut off (I kid you not) as well.
The positive side she trusts me and she will not bite and never threatens. Which means she likes to be petted, and likes her neck scratched (and will move her head so you can scratch other areas). and tolerates holding well. she's very tame.
The negative side you have to handfeed her DAILY, and she can be a VERY fussy eater (cut the heads off first). Sometimes she won't eat cricket legs either--just the body without a head.

I have had success getting my pictus to eat dead crickets, but I have to wiggle them around to amke him think they're alive! i tried holding them in my fingers, but he got my fingers too, and it freaked him out. Probably plastic forceps work better.
Hope that helps!
