I am looking for a night viewing light for my Gliding treefrogs. Are there any that will not heat up the cage too much?

I use Black Phosphorus coated spot lights for heat and viewing. At 15 watts they don't throw a lot of heat, so it wouldn't be an issue in a large setup. The coating is the same thing they use to create black lights, so you could try a flourescent black light bulb. Just a thought.

I use a 75W "Night Glow Moonlight Lamp" made by Exo-Terra. I use 75W because I need the heat it produces to keep my terrarium above 70 degrees at night (my condo gets really cold!). It is supposed to simulate natural moonlight.

Anyway, I love this light because it is bright enough to see everything in the terrarium (but not too bright!), and makes the all of the plants and moss in there an eerie red color, while everything else maintains its original color. So my auratus frogs stay their original bright blue while the plants around them are a bright red (bright being relative- its still relatively dark in there so they can sleep). In a way, it actually highlights the frogs so I can see them easier.

I had used an ESU nightime heat lamp before I got the Exo-Terra, but the ESU is just a black light and didn't produce enough light for me to see anything in there at all.

I just realized your question was about heat production, sorry for my semi-OT post. But it really does make all my plants have a really cool red color
