how much would your average 28 inch columbian rainbow weigh.
what size (weight is what i really need) would you feed that size snake. i just dont have a metric scale and when i order i want to know what weight it should be. every place has different sizes with different names, it confusing. it would help just to know what weight i need. thanks much.

Mikester,
. I do not have any little Colombian Rainbows around to weigh. I do have some BRBs that are 24 to 26 inches long and they weigh 2.8 to 3.2 ounces so I think a 28 inch Colombian Rainbow will weigh around 4 or 5 ounces. Jumbo breeder mice weigh around 1.5 ounces and the adult mice that most mice breeders sell weigh one half to one ounce. A 28 inch Colombian Rainbow can eat a Jumbo mouse but I would look for mice around an ounce to feed to it. One ounce equals approximately 28.5 grams.

an adult mouse?? thats like twice the width of her body! but i guess thats right cuz i usually feed her 2 small adult mice. (mice on ice) so you think i should try an adult mouse?

Mikester,
. Small adult mice are fine for a 28 inch Rainbow but in most cases you get more for your money buying larger ones. If it is eating two small adults now it will be fine with one large adult. I have actually fed big adult mice to newborn BRBs and CRBs as their first meal. That is really too large a meal for them and they are more prone to puke when overfed but they did okay with them.
