Newbie here and a few questions

Hi,

I am a new White's tree frog owner and need a little advice.

He has seen a vet and he is healthy----my questions are---what kind of vitamins am i to give him and do I give them to him by dusting the crickets---same with calcium???? I think I am reading too much and getting confused.

Also I have been giving him crickets and I feed the crickets oranges---well I have pieces of oranges in the cage with them. Should I put anything else in there with them.

Now as for worms---I noticed he likes wax worms----how often should I feed these to him. Someone told me they were healthier than the crickets---but I thought they were loaded with fat--that cant be too healthy---

And I was told I can give him pinkies (he is way too small for those right now) and earthworms----those suckers are pretty big---do you cut them up first to the size of the wax worms---or give them huge.

Thanks for the help.

Colleen

are the crickets and coranges in the frog tank? I hope not. if yes get them out. keep crickets in a coffee can or something, feed them on assorted fruits/veggies. cricket food available at petstore too but still use fruits/veggies. and I would dust the crickets once a week. that's all. and just vary the diet as much as possible. only feed the frog every other day 2-3 crickets. if mealworms or something else then skip a few days after meal. better for frog to be hungry than fat.
what is the setup like? temp? should be 80-85 near the heat lamp. background on 3 sides? cork bark glued to back wall is great. frog will hide behind it. snake plants are good too. driftwood/stacked pile of shale/sandstone.

Hello Colleen and welcome aboard! Mark pretty much covered it all, just thought I'd post a link to my webpage on WTF as it covers what you've asked about as well as more - if you'd like to check it out. Congrats on your new froggie and hope you'll hang around. Post some pics of him/her if you can. Hope this helps!
