Activity Question

I saw my gecko come out of her hide box for the first time today. She came out to eat a cricket. All the times before i had to set the cricket right by her hide and wait for it to crawl in. Before today, i barely even knew what she looked like. She's been in her hide now for 6 days straight. I know she's not too stressed because she's eaten five crickets all 6 days that i've had her. And she's been out at some point because she's used the bathroom once for every day. I've read a bunch of other posts about people starting to tame their gecko after day 1, and feeding them by hand on day 2, and so forth. There is no way i could try any of this because i've only seen her once. Is this normal or is she too stressed out?
I really appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Dennis

Okay, as for her staying in her hidebox all the time, don't worry about it. As long as she eats and is pooping she is fine. It takes time for them to adjust to their new surroundings. How fast they adjust depends on the personality of your gecko. As for the taming, I would suggest waiting at least a week. Although it will be hard, and can be very frustrating you need to leave it up to her. Also as I said before it will depend on the personiality of your gecko. For example, three of my adult geckos are realtivly easy to handle. One (Raptor) is a total freak and flips out if you try to handle her. My juvie Boo will run right up your arm if you give her the chance, but Popeye my other one is really skittish. My baby Pumpkin seemed to love being held, and even sat docily in my fiance's hand for about twenty minutes when we first got him, and now will not even walk on our hand. He is not as skittish as Boo and Popeye were at his age, but he is not really interested in being picked up. Too make a long story short, just give her time. Good luck. I hope this has been of some help.
