I think my imitators laid eggs! Help needed...

shopaholic Nov 17, 2003 03:01 AM

I tried looking in the archives, but no luck. Would someone post pictures of their Imitator Eggs? I think mine laid some, but I don't know what they really should look like, how to tell if they are good. Also, who normally stays to protect them? Mother or Father? How many days till hatching? What can I do to help parents raise them? Thanks

Maggie

Sweet!!.They are cream colored and you should see development in probably 3 days. The male will protect them and keep them moist. If you leave them in their your in for a treat watching him carry the tads around until he finds a suitable place to deposit them.Hope this helps some.

Thanks! That helps. They are eggs. I just hope they are Ok. The male was protecting them but around Midday, he left the brom. Does that mean they are no good? Or do they leave sometimes then come back? Thanks-maggie

Are the eggs in the water of the brom axil? If they are there probably is a tad that the female laid the eggs for.

No, actually they are hanging vertically on the back side of a brom leaf that is facing the wood that it is mounted on. I don't believe there to be a tad in the water portion of the brom and the male did look as if he was tending it earlier today. Wonder if they're good. thanks!
