Pinky Pumps

Ball-Pythons.Net Nov 17, 2003 05:23 AM

I remember a while back I ran across some cool devices called a pinky pump. For those of you who do not know what these are let me explain.

If you have a non feeding snake, and want to get it eat you can use these. You basically get a massive syringe and jab it into a pinkie or mouse. Then suck it's guts out. Then you put it down the snake's throat and inject all that yummy gus into their stomach.

Is this ok to use for a 38 inch bp? He'd need a rather big one to fill him up, where can I get these?

Thanks, and has anyone used these?

You actually put a dead pinkie inside the pump and liquify it. They're good for force feeding, if force feeding is necessary.
Also, you'd need a heck of a lot of pinkies to do any good for a 3 foot python.

Might I suggest another method first. It is my understanding that your BP won't eat.

Try placing the BP in a brown paper bag with a young mouse overnight. Use a small mouse so that if the snake doesn't eat, he won't be harmed. If the technique works then repeat with a larger mouse.

This technique has worked for me and has resulted in a snake that now takes less than 15 seconds to hunt every feed day.

Hope it helps...
