Ok, my turn for a serious health question that needs answering ASAP

BeginnersBasics Nov 17, 2003 12:03 PM

I have a dragon that hatched 11/08. The clutch was 16 eggs with 100% hatch. However, while I was just misting my babies I noticed one off all alone and it looked "wrong". I picked it up and it has a fleshy substance and blood coming out of it's vent?

Any ideas?

That sounds like a prolapse. I'm not entirely sure of what to do about that. I think you should probably seperate that one from the others, as that's always a good idea when you suspect a problem. I think you're supposed to keep it moist and then take it to the vet. Wish I knew more about it and could be of more help. Hopefully someone else will be able to give further information.

Soak the baby in sugar water, I'm not sure of the ratio, just use alot. The sugar will sometimes shrink the membrane that is hanging out and it's possible for it to go back. If that doesn't work, keep it on moist paper towel so it doesn't dry out until you can get it to a vet.
