I am thinking about purchasing a pair of E. carinata and wanted to get as much info about them as I can about their care and temperment,etc. Any info would be appreciated.

I keep 1.1 E. carinata and really like them. The change from mostly tan hatchlings to yellow and black adults is really incredible and only takes about a year or so. As far as temperment, mine never bite but they can be squirrely. And if they are determined to move and you restrain them, they may musk. But this is very rare. While they have a reputation for pungent musk, their musk is in fact no more pungent than that of many asian rat snakes - I find it similar to that of E. climacophora. I keep mine in a rack system on aspen. Their ambient temperature is 78-82 with a hot spot in the mid 80s. They are feeding machines and like to feed often. My male easily switched over from mice to rats but my female seems determined to eat only mice even though she's large enough to take rats.
Overall, these snakes are easy to keep rat snakes. I think they are very underrrated given their ease-of-care, hardiness and beauty.
Oh by the way, my comments apply to cb snakes. WC carinata can be a handful and it's probably best to steer clear of them.
