I do have some recent pics of my large male ..... I'll try to post them at some point in the not too distant future
I think my male is smaller than yours .. mine is around 14 inches and I've only had him a few weeks. I picked him up unexpectedly at a reptile show ..... I knew he was in captivity for a long time because his nails were extremely long and almost curled around in a full circle! He looked very well fed, alert with bright eyes and didn't mind handling at all. The vendor told me someone had him for a long time and due to a move had to get rid of him so he brought him in to his pet store. When the guy said he would sell him for $90 I just couldn't resist.
Although I have allot of other uros ... ornates, saharans and malis .... this egyptian has really quickly grown on me and is now my favorite animal .... this guy is fearless and always approaches me when I come up to his cage ... even if he is only hoping I'm going to give him a hibiscus flower which he LOVES.
I've always resisted getting egyptian uros because they are pretty drab colored but now I know that what the egyptians lack in color is more than made up for by their personalities and awesome presence.
Good luck Peter with your new female and I would certainly quarantine her for a few months at minimum before introducing her to your male.
Please let us know how you make out with the new female.
