would this be big enough?

babydoshia Nov 17, 2003 02:47 PM

sorry about all the questons but-
i decided that once i get an iguana once it gets too big for the 30 gal tank its gonna start in i am going to built a cage because custom made cages cost way to much. the dementions of the cage i was thinking of building are 48lx40hx24d is that big enough? i can possibly make it taller or longer but i cant really make it deeper cuz it needs to be able to fit though a door. do you think that cage would be ok?

Nope, that enclosure would be much to small for an adult iguana. Given that a fully grown ig ranges from 60" to 72" long, and even a sub-adult will be upwards of 40" long, you want to plan for much larger than that.
