I am not thinking about buying a uromastyx but i think they look interesting. I cant find any info on any websites. I was just wondering how big of a tank they needed? how large they get?

Uros are great little lizards. Tank size depends on the species. The smaller species can manage in a 40 gallon breeder tank just fine. They range in size (varying by species and sex) from around 9" to over 2 feet. They're primarily herbivorous, though many have a taste for insects on the side. They need lots of light and heat - basking spot of around 115 - 120 or so. Most people also go with at least a 5% UVB light, too. You can get some excellent information on the genus at www.deerfernfarms.com. It's a fabulous wealth of information about Uromastyx. There are several other very good site, but this one is the most commonly recommended.
