Is my setup too arboreal?...

-ryan- Nov 17, 2003 06:58 PM

I set up a nice arboreal setup for sidney, and not only does he not climb the branch that's not his basking spot, he won't walk under it. Do they have predators that live in bushes or low tree limbs or something? Is that why he's insecure when I put him underneath the branch?

I think I might take it out. it would be $17 wasted, but I'm sure I could set it up as an out of tank climbing branch or something. His basking spot gives him a nice variety of options already.

Hard to say without knowing the dimensions of your cage. You generally want 2-3' of height and as much surface area as possible (depending on the age/size of the dragon). They like very thick/fat branches and can't climb thin, barkless branches very well compared to more arboreal lizards. Hope that helps.
