SULCATA EMERGENCY!!

animalchin Nov 17, 2003 07:46 PM

hi suddenly, my sulcata hatchling hatchling started closing one of his eyes, and now it seems that its not opening it at all! Just one. There is no swelling, no mucus, and no sniffling or any thing coming out of his eye or his nose. I am very worried and already called the vet. I can take it to an emergency hospitol if necessary. I'm really upset at the moment. Any advice? If so, please IM me at InfamousAlias.

Thanks, gina

that happened to my baby after he took a nap today. one of his eyes was open, the other wasnt. i put some warm water on a qtip and dabbed it on for a bit. there wasnt any mucous or anything,i think he was just having trouble getting it open. i just swabbed it a little until he could open it hisself. see if it works for you. just use water, nothing else.

hey, thanks for all your help... (outisde of the message board and everything) we went to th vet today, and discovered he had a tiny cut on his lower eyelid- caused possibly by another hatchling he was living with before we got him. we got some antibiotic eye ointment. he weighed 26 grams i think is what the vet said, and is rather small in acttual size for his age (1 month) you think that's an okay weight?
