Sweet new picture

TylerStewart Nov 17, 2003 07:51 PM

Last night I was trying to get a good picture of some of my chameleons eating and since they had all been fed I was using superworms, since they'll eat those until they pop, but actually, I was getting pretty dang close to getting some good shots.... This is the best of the 5 or 6 I took, but I'm determined to get a better one. My website is within days of being done and I'll "debut" more good pics on it. What do you think?

Looks out of range, did he get it?

cool action pic!

Yeah he got it... I have a Sambava panther that I swear has a tounge like 2 feet long. I kept trying to get a good pic of him at full range but I missed and missed (the timing) until he stopped eating. I got a few decent ones of veileds but they were all a little too late, like when they were pulling it in. Now my camera battery died and I gotta go get a new one. They're 38 bucks and I just replaced it a month ago. I need to find a rechargable one.

That is a pretty cool picture!!

I did the same thing a couple of months ago with some of my chams and it was pretty difficult to get a clear shot..

hold a worm under the camara and when the cham is aiming(you know with tongue sticking just out of the mouth) and look at you with both eyes is a really good pic!!

I cringed when I saw that picture.. Not that it isn't a sweet picture or anything..

If one of my chams took a long distance shot like that, I'd be untangling his tongue from about 5 branches. I am going to show all of my chameleons that picture for inspiration.

That's awesome! It's amazing how far some chams can reach. Orion got a mealworm from a good foot, if not more once (she's only about 5 or 6" snv!). If you have a tripod, set it up in the spot you want, and hand feed your chams. you can manipulate their angle and where they are, and also how fast they eat (if you move it around a lot they will take longer, till you get their head in JUST the right spot, then let them go for it).
I got this pic of Orion when she was about six months. She LOVES mealworms to death!
