Chameleon escape. (long sorry)

pygmyleaf Nov 17, 2003 08:24 PM

i went to school and my mom put my vieled chsmeleon on a pothos plant that has a pot to keep him from climbing up and off the plant that she hung from the house. weeks ago i told her i found him on the top of the plant before when he was in an enclosure but she must of forgot and when i came home and brought in his plant he wasnt on it and i looked with a flashlight(it was dark) but i couldnt find him. i figured he would stand out at night because it gets very light colored. now hes somewhere outside in the very cold night(i live in ca but its cold at night) and he will have no heat, water, and god he cant even eat by himself because his toungue was amputated because he had an accident w it so we hand feed him but now HOW WILL HE EAT? he could injure the reaminin toungue if he tries to zap a bug. I donty nkow what to do hes nearly invisible and theres trees all around. ive had a horrible day and my head feels like its going to pop. i just hope he survives until maybe he walks up to me if he gets really hungry but he probly wont since he doesant have a toungue. any suggestions would be appreciated. I thank all who have helped me with him.

Not much to say.....only suggestion is to keep looking... make every member of your family go out with flashlights and look for him...also they tend to go as high as they can so focus on high points in your surroundings.

best of luck!!

Also go out in the early morning and look for a basking cham...they will tend to be in full sun and easier to spot.
