I know this is a gecko forum but noone has replied on the general lizard forum.you work at a pet shop so I was wondering if you have ever got in prarie racerunners and how do you take care of them.Im asking because I caught one a few days ago that is now in a twenty gallon tank.thanks for your time.

Hmmm prairie racerunners....never heard of it. I'm guessing its close to a fence lizard by decyphering the common name, possibly a southwestern lizard of some sort. In any case, since you caught it, my best advice is to mimic the environment in which it lived. I would go with fine grade sand with bark or some mulch and dirt mixed in and small bushes. Basically an arrid rock dweller. Hope it helps....I'm thinking its awfully close to a texas collared lizard so try and look those up.

well have you ever seen a six lined racerunner.they are the middle and western versions of it.No books have info on it just the six lined racerunner.should I follow this guideline or what.

Yeah use whatever info you can find. Just figure its a prairie species of some sort and work with that...if you imitate the place where you got it from you should be in good shape.
