Drosophila Co. Internal Mite Killer

djvader Nov 17, 2003 08:59 PM

Anyone tried MITEBEGONE from Drosophila? With a few drops it's supposed to kill mites in new and old fruit fly cultures within 24 hours without affecting the flies.

What do FF mites look like?

I've heard they are white, but how big are they and where are they located?

very small......springtail size. I had a culture infected with mites once, and they were everywhere basically. Sides, medium, flies, etc.

It works well, but their are different ways to use the product. The difficulty arises with the mite population outside of the cultures continuously attempting to get into cultures. Their product also called Tedion solution is also used. repunzel
