The geckos were all running around as usual and seemed to be enjoying themselves. I opened the tank and changed the water. Then grabbed my spray bottle to mist the humid hides.
When I opened the tank they did their usual thing...Tyrone went and hid in the rock-hide, Tanisha ran over to me and tried to climb on my hand. However, while I was changing the water Tyrone must have moved to the humid-hide, without my noticing.
I picked up the humid hide and stuck the nozzle of the spray bottle in the opening and squirted one burst of mist into the hide...and that's when I found out Tyrone was in there.
He DID NOT like being sprayed with water. They don't normally make sounds, but he hissed loud enough to scare the crap out of me as he stuck his head out and bit the nozzle. Then he left his head out and just stared at the bottle. I put the hide back in and gave him a few minutes to climb out before grabbign it to mist (this time double-checking to make sure it really was empty).
When that happenned Tanisha froze...in fact, she didn't move for several minutes until he layed down all the way. Now she's back to her usual climbing (he's sleeping outside the hides in his normal outside spot).
