Imitator Tad questions

shopaholic Nov 18, 2003 02:29 AM

Hi folks: In the case that an Imitator is not doing their parental duties, what must I be prepared to do for the Tads and what supplies should I have on hand? Thanks-Maggie

Hi,
What I would do is take the tad out of whatever place it is deposited, film canister, brom axil, etc.,and put it in a small deli cup and feed it tadpole food or tropical fish flakes.I have done it several times. One thing is when the parents raise them the froglets are very small. The one I have that the parents raised couldn't eat fruit flies for the first say 2 weeks it was out of the water so I'd make sure I had some springtails ready. If you feed them yourself they can take melonogasters right out of the water.E-mail me and I can send you a pic of "Tiny".That is what my wife named it.I am hoping it turns out a male because I have an extra female ready for him.
Good luck,
Mark W.
