Tough Love - Feeding Bin

jwainhause Nov 18, 2003 01:21 PM

I have a little problem. My male dragon has had no problem getting used to a feeding bin but my females are not adjusting so well. One seems to eat every now and then while others won't eat in the bin at all. They range in ages from 2 months to 5 months. The problem is that I usually breakdown and feed them in their cage which of course gives them no incentive to eat elsewhere. Should I be worry about totally withholding crickets from them in order to force them to eat in the bin? Will they bite each other or starve themselves sick before they decide to eat in the bin?

If they are in good health and have good weight, then you can always skip a live meal here and there and try to enforce the issue of "bin feeding". It will not hurt them to skip a live food meal every now and then.

I myself feed my dragons in their regualr cages, but I have shelf liner as substrate and not anyting like sand, etc.
