I have done and TON of research on beardies and think i have all the neccesities down. BTW, you guys have been a alot of help, it's greatly appreciated. However, i just wanted to do one more check to make sure i dont forget anything. Also, i was wondering what the correct hunidity is for the tank, i havent been able to find it anywhere
Anyways, Heres my list:

55 gallon tank, Spotlight, UVB bulb (don't argue, im using one whether they need it or not), shelf liner/reptile carpet, box for sand, climbing log, reptile hammock, food dish, digital thermometer, background, maybe a water bowl....anything else you can think of would be great. Even any suggestion about HOW to set it up

hey,

i haven't seen any of ur previous postings cause i'm new but i think i can answer some Q's....first the humidity for ur beardies is fairly low(they are airid dwelers) when u mist them the humidity goes up and other than that i don't worry about it too much....second r u getting a baby?????? cause if u r u might want a smaller tank to start cause they are sometimes intimidated in a big cage.......other than that u seem all set to go.....except u need calcium suppliment/vitamins......let me know how the new bd is..........

That sounds good. If you are getting a baby dragon, I would recommend starting it in a 20 gallon tank before you move up to the 55 gallon. This will give him at least a couple months in a smaller, more comfortable enclosure. Baby dragons do better in these enclosures because they feel safer, have an easier time catching their crickets, and its easier to thermoregulate.

And don't forget your calcium and vitamin supplements!

Good luck, beardies are great animals and I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience of raising your own.

yup, if youre planning on getting a baby you can use a smaller tank, or just section part of it off so they dont get overwhelmed. id also hold off on the sand awhile if theyre still really small. the water bowl isnt usually necessary since beardies dont seem to recognize standing water...just be sure to mist them often. mine usually will drink if im spraying in the water (so they can see it moving). humidity should be kept as low as possible, thats why yuo never see a figure for what it should be.
overall, you seem pretty well prepared for your new Child. and yse, it will likely become your child good luck!
