Calcium supplements - Yay or Nay?

capalaba Nov 18, 2003 02:41 PM

Is it really necessary to add calcium supplememnts and why if my monitors diet is (what I thought) nourishing enough?
Currently my 8 month old spencer's is feeding every other day with a preference of adult mice cut in half, crix, roaches etc. He get's plenty of time out in the sun and is growing well.
Any suggestions??

calcium supplements like minerall are great for pinks and insects alike. we have started experimenting with ground calcium from cuttlebone, it has proven well so far.

if you want healthy animals that eat a mix of pinks and insects or just insects it is good to religiously use supplement, its a good habit that will make for healthier animals.
