Wanted: Giant Blood Pics

Blue_Fox Nov 18, 2003 06:38 PM

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone out there has a picture of a giant, full-grown blood (5-8 feet) that they'd like to post. I've seen a few pictures of full-grown blood pythons, but most of the pics you see are of one or two year olds, only a couple feet long. I'm curious to see what a real giant of a blood would look like!

Also, if anyone out there has pictures of full-grown Sarawaks, that would be greatly appreciated too!

(People seem to like showing off their babies, so I figure this should be sort of a fun request.)

Thanks,
-----

Giant is relative in my opinion. Since mine are only in the 4-6year old range, they are certainly not done growing. Although, I believe a couple are past the major growth stage. Here are the details of my group of Python breitensteini measurements.

....................Pounds......Kilos......Sex......Year Hatch
*Borneo-dark........21.2lbs....9.62kg.....Male.......1997
*Sarawak 1..........22.4lbs...10.20kg.....Female.....1999
Sarawak 2..........17.2lbs....7.80kg.....Female.....1999
*VPI-high contrast..14.9lbs....6.74kg.....Female.....1999
Borneo.............16.7lbs....7.58kg.....Male.......1998
Borneo.............19.8lbs....8.98kg.....Female.....1999

* Denotes inclusion in photo. The weights were as of today 11/18/03 and the picture was taken 08/02/03.

sorry but i think thats what you call over weight cool? not when the life span is halfed

jfmoore Nov 27, 2003 03:35 PM

of the studies on which you base your statement. I believe overfeeding can be detrimental to the health of animals in general (I am NOT referring to pytonson’s photo here). But your statement that “life span is halfed” implies that you have specific data to back up your assertion. Please share it with us.

I see you are new here, or, at least, your screen name is. You recently stated on the Burmese Forum that you found it more congenial than “another forum i dont use anymore due to being riduculed for asking novice qwuestions.” Why don’t you share a little information about yourself, your interests, or your experience with blood pythons?

She might be a tiny bit large, but not in an unhealthy way. For a blood of that size I wouldn't really consider that overweight. Anyways great looking snake, keep em coming!

Hey FishKiller,
Here is the other female I got with that first girl. They are both lovely girls, and very different. They are super sweet and big fat girls; I love them both. This girl has a "Chrome-head", or what more commonly, would be called a grey or silver head. Hope you like. - Angel

Gorgeous, where is she from?

googo151 Nov 22, 2003 02:32 PM

Hey Amy,
There origins are not clearly known, but the guy I bought them from is Jason Lemay, of WI. He recently got out of herps for the time being and into Falconry, so he had to let the bloods go as he needed to raise some funds for the falconry project that he is working on; luck for me! At any rate, they were both purchased as adults and the guy did a fantastic job of raising these two lovely 3 year old specimens, of very different looking black blood girl. I hope to produce some nice looking babies some time soon. Keep you posted! - Angel
