Best Frog Care

turtlesong Nov 18, 2003 08:01 PM

As a novice frog hobbyist, I'm not sure how to care for frogs to the best of my ability. If anyone here can give me some basic tips-and safety precautions-it'd be greatly appreciated.

I keep my frog in about a 30 gallon aquarium, with about six inches of water and a little dry land(rocks) with some plants on all sides. I also have a log, or piece of wood, a bubbler, and a heater. Plus I have a 'Day Glow' heat lamp for it to sun on.

My diet is crickets, worms, pill bugs, dragonflies, grubs, and flies. It eats everyday.

I'm not sure, however, if I should feed my froglet everyday or not.

Yeah, I was thinking about that mistake too. It's a bullfrog.

I just wanna know how often to feed it, and what. Now that winter's coming on, it's difficult to find live food, and I CAN'T FIND ANY BUGS FOR SALE HERE in South Korea. I'm working over here.

Moreover, how about the aquarium setup? What about the water temp, basking, etc? Are these okay or not? That is, what I've described? And what live foods should you look out for? I fed this little guy a slug and he almost "croaked."
