Feeder question...

LeoGeoKing Nov 18, 2003 08:15 PM

Would it be ok for me to feed my Mealworm colony sweet potatoes? I'm all out of regular potatoes.

Yep, its perfectly fine. I feed my mealworms carrots and the occasional peices of fruit. Any type of fruit of vegetable would be fine I would think (as long as the vegetable or fruit did not contain toxins). The occasional switch between a different food supply may even be good for the colony and boost their nutritional value.

I'd imagine that they would be even better since they contain vitamins like beta carotene. I like to vary the fruit / veggies I give to my mealworms.
