pacific gopher hatchlings not eating

tribbielvr Nov 18, 2003 08:31 PM

I have had two pacific gopher hatchlings since 10-10. The female has eaten twice and the male has never eaten.

I have offered both mouse and hamster pinkies, live, dead, and F/t. I have exposed the brain, which is the only way I did get the female to eat twice, but neither will eat now. They seem healthy and active but I am really getting worried. I got three texas bull hatchlings at the same time, and they are eatng like pigs. Any suggestions on the gophers?
Thanks
Nina

i was having the same problem up until about 3 weeks ago w/ 03 striped pacifics. i lowered their temp a bit and increased their humidity a hair and they started eating 'normally' finally. they were eating some before but not like you'd like to see. now i got them at around 76* ambient dth down from about 80*. i also added more water in their cups as i noticed they were sitting on the top edge [but not in] of the cups alot. try something like that and good luck w/ them!
