I currently have some for sale on Frognet along with oak and magnolia leaves for 5 bucks a gallon bag. They break down quicker than oak and magnolia leaves, when they are kept very wet, but that is to your advantage. I have used them in my terrariums a bunch of times and I put down about 1-1 1/2 inches of leaves, then add your plants and your moss. Since it is will be well broken down quickly, it creates a perfect substrate for moss to get a foot hold, moss will quickly grow over the leaves and create a nice living carpet. It will help the nutrients in the soil and be covered moss quickly. Plants will also grow well in the mulm, brovided by the leaves. If you add some springtails they really really like to live in this type of leaf. Just some thought.
Thanks
Danny
p.s. if you are intrested in Magnolia, Oak, or Elephant ear plant leaves drop me a line
