Finding frogs in my yard, or is there a breeder...

embibble May 31, 2003 08:20 PM

I would like to find some spring peepers in my yard, any ideas on how to do that? There isn't a pond or anything around here would there still be spring peepers around here? Also are there any breeders of spring peepers?

You are getting kind of a late start. In many parts of the country spring peepers or are ready done breeding for the year, and they are typically not found except when they are breeding. The best way to find them is by learning their call and listening to choruses as you drive around.

I am not aware of any spring peepers breeders, they do not really make good pets. There are far better choices that are much easier to take care of.
