Bed A Beast problem...

iamkylemcandrews Nov 18, 2003 10:14 PM

Well I just got rid of my reptile carpet and replaced it with some Bed A Beast. I left it somewhat moist and put it over an inch layer of gravel, then I spread a thin layer of Java Moss from one of my aquariums over the BAB. My Whites Tree Frogs are COVERED in the Bed A Beast now. It doesnt bother me much, but will this hurt the frogs? They seem slightly irritated by it as well...

Also, now that I have the BAB substrate would it be ok to go ahead and add a Potho (spelling?) plant? What other plants will grow under a simple incandescent bulb if any? Do I need to do anything to the BAB before adding a plant?

Once again thank you very much,
Kyle

P.S. I posted a picture of myself and one of my WTF in the user photos section...

A pathos plant would make a nice addition. As for the sticky bed-a-beast, it won’t hurt the frogs, but they may find it uncomfortable. Try packing the layer of bed-a-beast down. That should help things.

I noticed it was really messy at first too, but now that it has been trampled down a bit, it works a lot better and it looks nice too.
