Coloration question:

crazydago18 Nov 19, 2003 01:20 AM

Slash, my just a little over two foot argentine B/W is normal and healthy. I was just wondering what color are the bellies of all your ppl's tegus. Slash has alot of orange coming through on his belly idunno if this is normal or possibly rare or something. I cant find a picture of a tegu's belly any where on the net so just thought i'd ask. I'd post a pic of his belly but its 2 in the morning and i dont think Slash would be to pleased about that right now. Sea ya thanks, Nick and Slash.
P.S. Im gonna get you!!!!!!!!!

My tegu, Elvis is about 1.5 years old. He is approaching 4 feet and weighs 7 pounds. His belly has a lot of orange color. I keep his cage very clean and he is soaked and bathed atleast twice a week.

You can see plenty of dark orange in this photo of Bianca, taken when she was about a year old. It has faded somewhat with adulthood but there is still some orange on her belly. Some orange on an Argentine B/W is not unusual.
