Earthpig,
. It seems like these snakes are variable in how long they spend in preshed condition. BRBs shed more often than most other snakes. Because they shed often they go through the preshed to shed cycle quickly......usually. For some reason they sometimes go opaque and then take a long time to finally shed. When they are like this keeping them very humid seems to be the best thing to do. If you will compare a shed skin from a BRB to the shed skin from a Python of Boa Constrictor you will notice that the BRB shed is thinner and lighter in weight. I suspect that this thinner skin wears quicker and also allows quicker loss of moisture and is why these snakes can so quickly dehydrate if kept too dry.

>>My BRB about 5 days ago dulled considrably. she did not get blue eyed on me or at least i did not see it. Anyways it will be close to a week soon that she has been dull. My question is are BRB like other snakes when it comes to how long it takes of pre shed to shed. The humidity is always between 80-90% Not worried just curiuos. By the way she has all the other symptoms of pre shed as well like not eating and hiding most of the time.
>> Thanks.
